Dog Health
• Inform staff of any health concerns including wounds/ stitches / discharges • If your dog is female and in season. • If dog has been limping or has any sensitive areas when touched • If we find any Ticks these will be removed, and you will be informed.
If we find any Fleas on your pet(s) we will inform you of this. This may result in the groom being ceased until treated. Appointments ceased by flees will still be required to pay 100% of the booked appointment.
If staff find health concerns during the grooms this may result in grooms being stopped at any point. Staff are not held responsible for any unknown health issues, including any caused from matted coats.
If in the event your pet passes away while in our care from any existing or unknown health problems, we cannot be held responsible. In the event of an emergency and owner is unable to get to the salon quickly, a staff member will take pets to the first available vet on owners behalf.
Accidents
Although accidents are very rare, there are risks unfortunately when working with animals and sharp equipment. We use extreme caution and take time and care when working with each pet to minimise these risks. In the event of an accident, owners will be informed.
Aggressive Dogs
As legally required owners MUST inform staff of any aggression their dogs have. If dogs do attack staff or other pets within the premises owners are held responsible for all costs as stated within the Dangerous Dogs Act. Grooms may be stopped if dogs have injured staff or if they are unsafe to continue working with. We may use soft muzzles to prevent biting. In the event dogs are too aggressive to work with, vet assistance may be required with either sedatives or calmers.
Matted Dogs
As stated in Animal Welfare Act 2006 “animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering."
We will only groom pets by the safest and most humane techniques to ensure no distress or suffering is caused. We do our best to brush out knots within the coat and try not to have to shave off. If coats are matted, we will be required to shave off to upkeep this legislation.
Matts in an animals coat grow tight and can tear skin causing extreme pain, discomfort, and infections. Heavy matted coats also cause itchiness, redness, irritation, and abrasions. In the event of grooming heavily matted coats staff are not responsible for any health issues caused from removing the matted coat. This includes small nicks that may occur due to the skin being trapped within the matts.

Full payments are required at the end of each groom.
